What do I do if my child will not be in school?
If your child is ill, please call or email your campus to let them know:

How will we know if there is a snow day or delayed schedule?
The HCS community will be notified by email and Parent Alert text of school delays and closures. The information will also be posted on our web site and social media pages. HCS follows APS for delays and closures due to inclement weather.

BILLING
FACTS Family Portal (formerly Parentsweb) is the online tuition management system which handles all tuition and fees.
CAFETERIA AND MEALS
Cafeterias with hot food offerings are available on all campuses and lunch accounts will be maintained online through Parentsweb/FACTS family portal. Below are directions on how to view your student's lunch transactions.
Begin at the HCS website (HCSNM.org) and click on FACTS/PARENT PORTAL on the top menu.
Enter your FACTS username and password and click Login.
Click on Financial
Under the Prepay Accounts click on the "blue dollar amount" next to Lunch.
This will give you the detailed lunch transactions for your student(s).

CONTACTING AND EXCUSING STUDENTS
How do I get an important message to my child during the school day?
Please call the office of the campus your student is on and we will get a message to them.
May my child call me from school?
No cell phones may be used during school hours, but your student is welcome to come to the office and the office phone to contact you.

How can I excuse my child from class for medical appointments?
In Elementary and Middle School, during normal circumstances, parents must physically come into the office to sign their students out for appointments. In High School, parents may call ahead or come in to sign their students out.

EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
Extracurricular activities are offered on the Elementary, Middle School, and High School campuses. Please check your specific campus section of the web site for details.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION
Physical Education is part of the curricula on all three campuses. PE Uniforms are required for Middle and High School students and may be ordered from our Student Store – the Dawg House. At the high school level, other PE electives, such as weight training, are offered. Please see the Curriculum button on the appropriate campus section of the web site for details.

TEXTBOOKS
Textbooks are checked out by Middle and High School students from the Resource Center located in the Middle School. An annual non-refundable book usage fee of $150 is charged to all new and returning students.
